Our Artistic Director, Maria Bauman-Morales will join a multitude of esteemed artists including Edisa Weeks, luciana achugar, and Nicky Paraiso, and It’s Showtime NYC to co-create a 24-hour “performance filibuster” dedicated to ending gun culture in the USA. The brainchild of George Emilio Sanchez, Bang Bang Gun Amok II Bang Bang Gun Amok II is a 24-hour performance marathon that addresses how U.S. gun violence is based in a larger history of institutionalized violence. Artists, activists, scholars, and survivors of gun violence will come together through music, dance, theater, comedy, mural-making, discussion, bodywork, and healing practices.
