Kinstillatory Mappings in Light and Dark Matter is hosted, held and curated by choreographer, writer and organizer Emily Johnson and by writer Kai Recollet. Coming into its eighth year, this season’s Kinstillatory fires organize us around extended time—with one another, with sound, provocation, action. MBDance artistic director, Maria Bauman, and performance-ritual activator, angel edwards, will guide participants through a fireside choreographic offering and dialogue surrounding themes in These are the bodies that have not borne. This free event takes placeon Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, at 6pm, at Abrons Art Center.
“These are the bodies… has been a meditation on duration, collaboration, moving together and apart around themes of birthing, earthwork, and care. As we’re nearing the premiere, I hold all the people, places, soil, and prayers we’ve sown. I’m so excited to share in exploration and reflection with Maria at Abrons!” -angel edwards
