Dancers at Hunter College are getting a taste of what it feels like to be MBDancers! All semester, they have been studying the themes of our dying and dying and dying. They saw the work at Gibney Dance Center and now they are learning excerpts from the piece themselves. In addition to regular instruction and coaching by Maria, the dancers have also worked with MBDancers Courtney Cook, Chantal Montilla, and Audrey Hailes. They are pouring themselves in to this work, and it is an honor and pleasure to provide a danced container in which they are naming and celebrating their ancestors and considering rests and pauses in their own lives.
Shanik Garcia, Briana Gaskins, Azuri Jenkins, Malvina Lorida, Jalissa Porras, Nadya Castillo, Melanie Joaquin, and Emlyn Medalla will perform dying and dying and dying at Hunter November 30-December 3. Come celebrate these young dancers in this meditation on various endings!
