On Saturday, March 22nd, MBDance artistic director Maria Bauman is performing in Dancing with Mrs. Ross as part of the 2025 BAAD!Ass Women Festival. The piece honors BAAD!’s dear friend and community legend, Mrs. Ross. Maria is honored to dance with amazing artists for this special new ancestor, with music that Mrs. Ross chose.
From our family at BAAD, “Bronx Diva Mrs. Ross lived to 102 years old and loved to dance. Celebrate her fierce life with a dance concert curated and constructed by Arthur Avilés and Heather Robles. Featuring her favorite big band and disco hits, videos of her life and a special performance to Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, her chosen farewell music. Then, join in as videos of her dancing invite us all to dance with her. Enjoy nibbles, Asti Spumanti, Manischewitz Peach wine, and peach cobbler.”
Maria is part of the dancing homage along with Alberto Denis, Seph Figueroa, Shizu Homma, Nikolai McKenzie, and Nercy Rodriguez. Please come celebrate life with us!
