Lola Flash’s photography challenges stereotypes and she’s said that because of the erasure of her femaile-centered, queer black person, “It is my task to speak up” and offer new ways of seeing that transcend and interrogate gender, sexual, and racial norms. Gonzalo Casals, a queer Latinx immigrant, and a fervent believer in cultural democracy, is the Director of the Leslie-Lohman Museum in NY and employs innovative cultural programming and authentic engagement strategies.
